In December, I took Marty to Cozumel for his B-Day. We selected the Cozumel Palace all-inclusive resort for five days. On line, it sold for $1500 a couple. We paid $400 each. Our price included round trip transportation to and from the airport, which was waiting for us when we arrived. (Most trips include this). When we arrived at the resort, I was given a flower in one hand and a drink in the other before we ever got to the check-in desk. Then the resort gave us $750 in resort credits to use. I went scuba diving and had a two hour series of massages. Both of us swam with the dolphins and had a 5 course lobster, steak and champagne Romantic Dinner outside next to the ocean. Golf and other activities were also available. So we really only paid $25 a piece for the entire time at the resort. What a deal!!! We also took a day trip across the bay to Playa del Carmen and stayed at the "sister" resort at no charge.
The nice thing is that all the Palace resorts, all over Mexico, are having their 25th anniversary and are offerring $750 - $1500 credits this year depending on the length of your stay. If we had stayed one more day we would have gotten $1500 in credits! I won't make that mistake again.
The pool, nightly entertainment and never-ending drinks (if the waitstaff saw you were almost finished, they had the next one ready for you) were fantastic. Our room was an ocean view, 2 level mini-suite (pkgs. include upscale rooms) with a huge jucuzzi, kingsize bed, and free in-room bar. Our entire room was done in marble, even the kleenex box!
The chef made Marty a personalized B-Day cake and there were snacks or cookies throughout the lobby areas all day. Three restarants made meals easy and the option to choose whatever we wanted and as much as we wanted to eat or drink. We loved sitting outside by the ocean to eat. If you wanted to leave the resort, they packed you a lunch if desired.
